I must confess, even though I run an Anime site, I much prefer mangas. I'm currently reading a manga called ippo, have you guys ever heard of it? It's pretty old. It's the story of this guy in high school that starts a pro boxing career. Very funny, people who like sports mangas will love it.

I know there's an Ippo anime too, I don't think we have it on the site right now, I'll look for it.
